7 Days to Die
7 Days to Die server planner
Three questions, and a reading of what the documentation says about the situation you describe. This planner does not award you a server tier. The evidence for this game documents published requirements and performance relationships, and it does not give any threshold that would turn your answers into a hardware band.
Three questions
Every figure you see is published. Which documented relationships matter for how you play, and how we describe them, is ours — and labelled that way.
Any positive whole number. This is context for the per-player Blood Moon setting — it sets no memory figure, and we have not built player-count brackets to sort you into.
The documented WorldGenSize values: 2048 to 16384 in multiples of 2048. Larger worlds take longer to generate, download and load. That is a cost in time, and the documentation puts no memory or disk figure on it.
Answer all three to see the reading.
How this works, and what it will not do
The documentation for this game gives directions rather than measurements. Blood Moon enemies are counted per player and bounded by a server-wide cap; raising that count is described as a large performance impact; bigger maps take longer to generate, download and load. Every one of those is a relationship without a number attached, so this planner reports the relationships and calculates nothing.
- No player-count brackets. You can type any positive number, and nothing above or below some line changes the reading you get. Player count is context for a per-player setting.
- No world size to memory conversion. The documented cost of a bigger map is time, three times over, and time is not gigabytes.
- No tier. The evidence documents published game requirements and workload relationships, and nowhere provides a server-sizing threshold mapping player count, world size or Blood Moon settings to a new hardware tier. So there are no baseline, extra headroom or demanding bands here — inventing them is the one thing that would make this page look more useful and be less true.
- The 8 GB minimum and 12 GB recommended figures stay labelled as current published game requirements, client included — never as a dedicated server's own sizing table.
The full set of published requirements and server configuration facts, with what we refuse to infer from them, is on the server requirements page. Whether to run it on your own machine or pay for one is a separate question, and self-host or rent is where we weigh that up — on operational grounds, since the published figures cannot settle it.
