Hytale

Hytale server planner

Three questions, and a reading built only from Hypixel Studios' current release documentation. Hytale publishes a server minimum of at least 4 GB and names what pushes usage above it — so this gives you the floor, the documented relationships and the recommended view-distance ceiling, and stops where the arithmetic would start.

Early Access

Hytale is in Early Access, and its server platform is moving

Everything on this page was checked against Hypixel Studios' current release documentation on the date shown, and that date carries more weight for Hytale than for the other games here. The server APIs and configuration are actively changing: options get added, defaults get revised, and specifics that are accurate today can be stale within a patch or two. That applies to the published figures as much as the settings — a 4 GB minimum and a 12-chunk recommendation are current values rather than permanent ones. So treat all of it as the present shape of the server, and check the manual itself before you rely on a specific number. We would rather tell you the material is moving than present it as finished.

There is a second reason to be careful here. Hytale documentation exists in more than one channel, and pre-release material is often more detailed than what has actually shipped — which makes it tempting to quote. Everything on this page comes from the release channel only. Pre-release values are recorded separately and are never presented as current facts, because a value that has not shipped is not a requirement yet, however thoroughly it is documented.

Any whole number — the manual publishes no maximum, so we impose none. Player count is documented as a driver of processor use, and as something to weigh when you tune view distance. It is not a route to a memory or processor figure, because no published relationship converts it into one.

What maximum view distance do you expect to set?

The Server Manual recommends limiting the maximum to 12 chunks, or 384 blocks, for performance and gameplay, and identifies view distance as a main driver of memory use. The recommendation is a chunk count, and there is no published conversion from chunks into gigabytes.

How do you expect people to play the world?

Loaded world area is documented as a driver of memory use, and players exploring independently are named as something that can increase it. That is the whole documented chain — no figure sits at either end of it.

Answer all three to see the reading.

How this works, and what it will not do

Hytale's documentation offers a planner more to work with than most, and that is the risk rather than the opportunity. There is a published server minimum. There are three named resource drivers. There is a recommended ceiling of 12 chunks. There is even a cubic scaling relationship with a stated memory consequence. Together they look like the makings of a sizing formula, which is exactly why they are not one: every piece names something that grows without saying by how much, and a floor plus a direction is still not a destination.

So there are no tiers here, and the reason is what this evidence contains. The one published number is a minimum for running the server at all. Bands above it would need a second and a third figure to sit at, and there is no second figure anywhere in the material — only drivers without coefficients. Anything we built on that would be ours wearing Hypixel Studios' authority.

Entity count is missing from the questions on purpose. It is documented in the same breath as player count as a driver of processor use, but unlike the other three inputs it is not something anyone can sensibly estimate before their server exists. Asking would collect a guess and then treat it as an input, so it appears in the reading as context instead.

Every fact carries its evidence tag, its scope and the date it was checked. Pre-release documentation is filtered out before anything reaches this page, so a value that is not yet current cannot arrive here by being forgotten.
