Palworld
Palworld server requirements
These are the figures Palworld's own server guide publishes, written out in plain language. Nothing on this page is our estimate.
What the official guide says
- Processor
4 or more CPU cores recommended
The official guide recommends a processor with at least four cores. Most computers sold in recent years have this.
- Memory (RAM)
16 GB; more than 32 GB recommended for larger environments
16 GB is the figure the official guide gives. For what it calls larger environments, it recommends more than 32 GB.
The guide notes a server can start with 8 GB, but says this carries an increased risk of the server crashing when it runs out of memory.
- Storage
Fast SSD recommended
The guide recommends a fast SSD. It does not state how much space you need.
- Network port
UDP 8211 by default, and changeable
This is the door your friends connect through. 8211 is the default and can be changed. You may need to allow it through a router or firewall.
- Operating system
64-bit Windows or 64-bit Linux
The server software runs on either, as long as it is a 64-bit version. Effectively every current desktop and server system is.

How a Palworld server actually works — where it can run, and what consoles need — is on the Palworld overview.
What we cannot tell you yet
The official guide does not break its figures down by group size, mods or how long a world has been running, and we will not invent that. Still to come from us:
- How the official figures translate to a specific number of players. The guide sets a configurable player limit and gives memory figures, but does not connect the two.
- How much difference mods or a long-running world make in gigabytes. Our planner can tell you when they point towards the guide's larger figure, but not what sits between the two.
When we publish guidance of our own, it will be labelled as ours and will say where it came from.
Where to take this next
The figures above are the same wherever the server runs. These two pages read them for your situation, and both say plainly which parts are ours rather than the guide's.
- Server Planner — four questions, and which of the guide's own memory figures fits what you described.
- Self-host or rent — whether your own machine is the right place to run it, including what Xbox and PS5 players need.
