Satisfactory
Satisfactory server requirements
Everything below comes from the Official Satisfactory Wiki, with its qualifiers left exactly as they are. The hardware figures and the documented server facts are shown separately, because they are not the same kind of evidence.
Read the hardware figures as recommendations
The wiki is official, but its dedicated-server hardware figures are explicitly community recommendations — written by players who run servers, not published by Coffee Stain as guaranteed minimums. That does not make them weak advice; it makes them advice. We label them that way everywhere they appear, so nothing on this site can quietly turn a player recommendation into a specification.
That applies to the memory and processor figures. The disk space the server files take up is a different thing — a documented measurement of what you download, not advice about what to buy — so it sits with the documented facts further down.
Community-recommended hardware: memory and processor
Published on the Official Satisfactory Wiki, but offered as a community recommendation rather than a minimum specification guaranteed by Coffee Stain. Treat these as experienced guidance, not a contract.
- Official Wiki · Community recommendationMemory (RAM)
8 GB of RAM, as a recommended minimum
The starting point the wiki's community recommendation gives for a dedicated server. It is a recommendation rather than a floor the game enforces.
- Official Wiki · Community recommendationMemory for bigger sessions
16 GB may be recommended for larger save files or more than 4 players
Note the “may” — this is offered as a possibility, not a rule. It does not say that every server with five players needs 16 GB, and the wiki gives no size at which a save counts as larger, so we will not invent one.
- Official Wiki · Community recommendationProcessor
Intel i5-3570 or better, or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 or better, on x86-64. The server uses multiple cores but heavily favours high single-core performance
Named as reference hardware rather than as a core count or clock speed to hit, so compare against those parts rather than looking for a number. The important half is the second sentence: extra cores are used, but how fast one core is matters more.
Documented server, storage and network facts
Documented behaviour of the server software itself — how large its files are, which platforms it runs on, how it is reached over a network, and what hosting it at home involves. Measurements and mechanics, not advice.
- Official Wiki · DocumentedDisk space for the server files
Server files are 12.4 GB on Windows and 8 GB on Linux. A full game install is not required
Documented rather than recommended: these are the sizes the server files come to, not advice about how big a disk to buy. Two figures because the two builds differ, and the Linux one is noticeably smaller. Worth knowing you are installing the server rather than the whole game — and that saves sit on top of these figures and keep growing while you play.
- Official Wiki · DocumentedOperating system
64-bit Windows and 64-bit Linux are supported
Both are documented, so the choice is yours. There is no 32-bit option on either platform.
- Official Wiki · DocumentedPorts and protocol
As of Patch 1.1.0.0 the defaults are 7777 TCP for server traffic and the HTTPS API, 7777 UDP for game traffic and the Lightweight Query API, and 8888 TCP for reliable messaging
Three entries rather than three separate ports — 7777 is used twice, once over each protocol. These are the defaults as of that patch, so they are worth rechecking against the wiki after a major update, and they have to reach the machine the server runs on for anyone outside your network to join.
- Official Wiki · DocumentedHosting it at home
Home hosting may require port forwarding, or VPN or other network configuration
Again a “may”, because it depends on your connection and router. It is flagged as work you might have to do, not a guaranteed obstacle.

What we will not read into this
The qualifiers in those figures are the most useful part of them, and they are easy to lose. These are the conclusions we are deliberately not drawing:
- That 16 GB is required above four players. The wiki says it may be recommended for larger saves or more than four players, and “may” is doing real work in that sentence.
- What counts as a large save. No size, hour count or factory scale is published, so any threshold we gave you would be ours dressed up as the wiki's.
- How much RAM a given number of players needs. There is no such figure to pass on, and we do not calculate one.
- What mods, factory size or tick rate change. None of that is covered by the hardware recommendation, so we leave it alone.
Where to take this next
The same figures apply wherever the server runs, and both pages below keep the community recommendations, the documented facts and our own reading labelled separately.
- Server Planner — two questions, and which of the wiki's two memory recommendations applies to your server.
- Self-host or rent — whether running one on your own machine suits how your group plays, and what the wiki documents about reducing the upkeep.
